Android Pay is now available in Canada, Spending is just tap away

Android Pay launched back in 2015 is now officially available in Canada. It will be available with Major Banks and Credit cards with support coming to Interac debit cards on 5th June.

Android phone users running Android 4.4 or higher with NFC enabled should be able to use Android Pay. Currently users should be able to add Visa and Master cards whereas support for AMEX and Tangerine cards will be coming soon.

Now, you should be able to pay using your Android phone in popular stores that accept contactless payments like Tim Hortons, Freedom Mobile, Rogers,TELUS, Loblaws, Petro-Canada, McDonald’s, Pizza Pizza, Sears Canada retail stores.

With these stores, Android Pay will also be supported by popular payment gateways or payments processors such as such as Moneris, Bambora, Chase, Cybersource, First Data, Global Payments, Paysafe, WorldPay and Stripe.

Android Pay Supported Banks

Android Pay now works with all majors banks except TD and RBC. We expect support for both will be launched later this year. You may download it from Google Play Store.

With Android Pay not only you can pay but you can also store loyalty cards, gift cards on your phone. It will also be available on certain apps and online service where you can pay with just tap.
